Federal Judge Blocks Implementation of Federal Childhood Immunization Schedule
(March 27, 2026) – A U.S. District Court Judge granted the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) request to block implementation of the federal changes to the childhood immunization schedule, the new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices members and the ACIP members’ votes while the case continues. The AAP
announced the ruling as a historic. The AAP and other medical groups filed the lawsuit against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in July of last year and updated it several times as ACIP continued to change vaccine recommendations. For more information, see the
AAP Statement on Historic Ruling in Vaccine Lawsuit. As noted in AAP’s statement, parents can continue to turn to the
AAP's childhood vaccine recommendations and talk with their pediatrician about how to best protect their children's health.
