(June 5, 2026) – On June 4, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Division of Public Health released Contamination of Intravenous Tubing KS-HAN. The health alert included information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about reports of black specks, discoloration and/or particulate matter in the drip chambers of IV tubing from the same manufacturer (ICU Medical). Additional information, including the ICU Medical letter and FDA Early Alert is available.
