(Sept. 4, 2026) – Healthworks is pleased to announce the selection of Hospital Services Corporation as the vendor for the Centralized Credentialing Verification Program, contingent on the successful completion of all required security, technology, privacy and compliance reviews.
The Evaluation Committee identified HSC as the strongest overall fit, citing its extensive CVO experience, NCQA accreditation, understanding of association-sponsored credentialing models, rural health care experience and strong alignment with Healthworks' vision for a collaborative, hosted centralized credentialing model. The proposal is set to not exceed $980,000 in year one.
The committee also placed significant value on HSC's human-centered customer service approach, partnership mentality, domestic support model and willingness to work within the governance structure established by Healthworks and the program's Advisory Committee. HSC's experience and approach were viewed as providing the strongest combination of program alignment, customer service, implementation readiness and support for Kansas hospitals, payers and practitioners.
The Centralized Credentialing Verification Program aims to streamline and standardize credentialing while reducing administrative burden and duplication for Kansas health care providers and payers. Hospitals will continue to retain responsibility for privileging decisions, and participating payers will retain responsibility for their credentialing decisions.
