(July 10, 2026) – On July 2, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a
proposed rule that would update Medicare payment policies and rates for hospital outpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Center services under the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and ASC Payment System Proposed Rule for calendar year 2027. CMS is publishing this proposed rule in accordance with legal requirements to update Medicare payment policies for hospital outpatient departments and ASCs annually. This
