(Oct. 24, 2025) – Health care professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses and behavioral health professionals, are invited to join a webinar on 7-OH Kratom from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The training will describe Kratom, its geographic origins, and how 7-OH Kratom differs from Kratom. Participants will learn about the risks of Kratom use, its toxicity, how to identify potential signs of use and symptoms of withdrawal. Additionally, attendees will learn how to ask patients nonjudgmental questions to assess use and develop strategies to treat 7-OH Kratom Use Disorder. One hour of free continuing education will be provided.
The training is hosted by the KU School of Medicine, Wichita, Kansas Board of Pharmacy, the Kansas Hospital Association/Healthworks and DCCCA. Funding for this project was provided through a grant approved and awarded by the Kansas Fights Addiction Program.
