(June 19, 2026) – Last week, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists released its 2026
maternal immunization schedule. Endorsed by 13 medical societies and health organizations , the new schedule marks the first time ACOG has formally released an immunization schedule that differs from federal vaccine recommendations. According to ACOG's release, the new schedule will be an easily accessible resource for clinicians, public health agencies and patients across the United States. The vaccine guidance was developed by ACOG's Immunization, Infectious Disease and Public Health Preparedness Expert Work Group and reflects ACOG's continued commitment to developing vaccine guidance based on peer-reviewed scientific data and evidence-based medicine. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health and the American College of Nurse-Midwives are among the 13 organizations that have endorsed ACOG's 2026 maternal immunization guidance.
