(Oct. 10, 2025) – Myers and Stauffer LC has been engaged by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to determine hospital eligibility for receiving Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital payments. The survey format is similar to previous years. Survey data will be used to calculate the federal fiscal year DSH allotment and quarterly payments for each provider.

To qualify for the 2026 DSH payment, hospitals must fully complete the survey. Please ensure the survey data is reported as accurately as possible. Submitted data will be examined. Each hospital is responsible for keeping detailed, auditable records used in reporting or correcting any data included in this DSH calculation for up to five years after submission.

The completed DSH and Uncompensated Care Survey, along with supporting documentation, must be submitted to Myers and Stauffer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2025, to be eligible for the 2026 DSH payment.

Please submit the data even if it is assumed the facility is not eligible, as a potential change in statewide calculations, not yet in effect, may impact eligibility.
