(April 10, 2026) – The Kansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is offering a webinar from noon to 1:00 p.m. designed for health care professionals who care for newborns in hospital and outpatient settings.
Ensuring every infant receives timely, evidence-based protection against hepatitis B begins at birth. Led by pediatrician Gretchen Homan, MD, and pediatric resident Anthony Saad, MD, participants will receive an up-to-date review of the AAP's recommendations for the hepatitis B vaccine birth dose, including the history and evidence that shaped current guidance. The session will clarify the clinical rationale for the timing of the birth dose—and why it is far more than an "extra" dose.
One hour of continuing medical education and one hour of continuing nursing education is offered.
