(Feb. 4, 2026) – Today, the Senate Ways and Means Committee discussed budget report-outs from sub-committees. Among those before them were the state hospitals. Senator Stephen Owens didn’t see any adjustments to the state hospitals or the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services in the Senate Ways and Means Sub-committee, as he reported those budgets to the full Ways and Means Committee. The committee asked questions about contract nursing at the state hospitals.
The committee will address the remaining adjustments next week.
