(Feb. 4, 2026) – Today, the Kansas House made several special recognitions, including Salina Regional Health Center for 30 years of successful operation.
The House also took final votes on the following:
House Bill 2464 extends the number of years during which new credits may be issued or earned for contributions to graduates of aerospace and aviation-related education programs. The bill passed by a vote of 81 to 39.
House Concurrent Resolution 5022 requests that the U.S. Congress call a limited national convention to propose an amendment to the U.S. Constitution establishing term limits for members of Congress. HCR 5022 passed by a vote of 78 to 42.
The House also spent time debating the following bills:
House Bill 2515 enacts the Virtual Currency Kiosk Consumer Protection Act, establishing requirements for virtual currency kiosk operators regarding certain disclosures, transaction receipts, fraud detection and prevention.
House Bill 2438 concerns elections and voter registration, imposing restrictions on websites that can accept and transmit voter registration applications.
Today, the Kansas Senate is slated to debate the following bills:
Senate Bill 299 requires the Supreme Court Nominating Commission to release specified records under the Kansas Open Records Act.
Senate Bill 348 exempts any electric public utility that is a not-for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of an electric cooperative public utility from the jurisdiction of the state corporation commission.
House Bill 2331 authorizes district coroners to dispose of the unclaimed remains of deceased persons and provides liability exemptions for such actions.
Senate Bill 327 eliminates the requirement that the January and April meetings of the Robert G. (Bob) Bethell joint committee on home and community-based services and KanCare oversight be held during the regular legislative session.
