(March 26, 2026) – Today, the House and Senate Taxation Committees continued to meet. In the early afternoon, the House conferees made an offer that would include SCR 1603, which proposes amending the Constitution to limit property tax valuation increases for real property.
The Senate conferees seemed unhappy with SCR 1616 across the finish line and asked about the state's history of property tax questions before voters that have failed on the ballot.
The Senate Assessment and Taxation committee discussed a possible meeting on House Bill 2745, which provides a protest petition to contest certain increases in property tax revenues and continues reimbursements from the taxpayer notification costs fund for an additional five years.
Negotiations are likely to continue into the evening.
