(March 5, 2026) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee held hearings on the following bills:
Sub Sub for HB 2132 determines when a law enforcement officer may or shall take a child into custody.
House Bill 2760 enacts the Esthetics Licensure Compact to provide interstate practice privileges for estheticians.
House Bill 2763 enacts the Athletic Licensure Trainer Compact to provide interstate practice privileges for athletic trainers.
The committee also took action to recommend House Bill 2478, which requires advanced practice registered nurses and registered nurse anesthetists to undergo a criminal history check when applying for a nursing license.
The legislation will now go to the full Senate. The committee will meet again next week.
