(March 3, 2026) – Today, the Senate Government Efficiency Committee held a hearing on
Senate Sub for House Bill 2731. The legislation requires the Kansas Department for Children and Families and the Office of Inspector General to exchange information and documents related to fraud investigations involving cash assistance, childcare assistance and food assistance. Steven Anderson, the inspector general, testified as a proponent before the committee. Marc Altenbernt of the Kansas Department for Children and Families provided opponent testimony. The committee will not meet again this week; however, it will continue hearings next week.
