(March 11, 2026) – Today, the Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee held hearings on the following bills:
House Bill 2727 provides that a plaintiff may elect to limit recovery in claims brought for violations of the Woman's Right-to-Know Act and makes the laws governing medical malpractice screening inapplicable when such an election is made. The bill passed the House previously on a vote of 87-37.
House Bill 2729 requires the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide forms and notices to physicians pursuant to the Women's Right-to-Know Act. This bill previously passed the House on a vote of 87-37.
The committee is scheduled to meet again tomorrow.
