(Feb. 18, 2026) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee worked Senate Bill 497, which adds kratom to Schedule I of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and makes conforming amendments to the definition of fentanyl-related controlled substance in the Criminal Code.
The committee recommended the bill favorably for passage. It will now go to the Senate.
