(Sept. 26, 2025) – Today, the Special Committee on Pharmaceutical Studies, chaired by Senator Beverly Gossage (R-Eudora), spent the morning hearing from national groups on topics, including: Pioneer Institute, Do No Harm, the American Legislative Exchange Council and Save Our States. The committee also heard from the Kansas Department of Insurance regarding Pharmacy Benefit Management registration in Kansas, as well as staff from the State Employee Health Plan.
Appearing before the committee to discuss the importance of 340B reform were Federally Qualified Health Centers: Matthew Schmidt, Health Ministries Clinic and Bryant Anderson, Prairie State Health Center. Testifying on behalf of hospitals regarding the 340B program included Paul Shiferl, Citizens Health, Colby and Melissa Hall, Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado.
The committee heard from Matt Morrison, Oread Rx, Brian Caswell, Four State and Cherryvale Pharmacy and Mike Burns, Auburn Pharmacy, to discuss the need for PBM reform.
The committee also heard opposition testimony from the following:
