House Appropriations Hears Budget Report Outs for KDHE-Health

Government budget 4 (Feb. 10, 2026) – Today, the House Appropriations Committee held budget reports out for some of the agency budgets before them. Chairman Dave Buehler (R-Lansing) reported on the sub-committee changes to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Division of Health budget. The full appropriations committee made the following adjustments:

  • Proviso language to adjust state vaccine schedules in effect as of July 1, 2026, per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, while clarifying that other vaccines would remain available. The amendment was adopted by a vote of 12-10.
  • Proviso language that restricts any State General Fund or Special Revenue Funds, or any grant to any entity that provides counseling or training for performing abortions, or to any affiliate of any entity that does the same, with added language stating that this doesn't apply to dilation and curettage procedures or ectopic pregnancies.

The committee will continue with KDHE - Health budget tomorrow.
