House Appropriations Approves Rural Transformation Program Bill
Rural Health (Feb. 6, 2026) – Today, the House Appropriations Committee met to review the budgets of higher education institutions. The committee also passed out House Bill 2555, which would require grant applications, expenditure information, reports and other documentation related to the Rural Health Transformation Program to be submitted to the State Finance Council, the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, the Senate Committee on Ways and Means and the Legislative Budget Committee. The bill was amended to require that the report to the State Finance Council include subrecipients of grants, the awardee's physical location and the outcomes the awardee is expected to achieve. The bill was recommended favorably as amended and will now go to the full House of Representatives.
