(February 2026) – As the Kansas Hospital Association attends board meetings statewide, it is clear many best practices are in use. KHA encourages members to recognize board members for their dedication and service. KHA launched the Trustee Accountability and Recognition Program in 2010 to help hospitals demonstrate accountability to legislators, attorneys general and their communities.
The program annually recognizes trustees at the KHA Critical Issues Summit. The Trustee Accountability and Recognition Program recognizes hospitals and trustees that:
- Understand and embrace the need for governance accountability
- Govern according to a standard of excellence
- Are willing to formally recognize their adherence to governance best practices
- Embrace community accountability
- Structure their community benefit and outreach programs to meet identified community needs
We encourage hospitals to recognize their trustees at this year's Critical Issues Summit by completing and submitting a recognition form by Feb. 27. Email the form to csamuelson@kha-net.org or fax it to Cindy Samuelson at (785) 233-6955.
