A survey conducted in 2011 indicated that 78 percent of hospital health care workers, including medical staff, were vaccinated against seasonal influenza for the 2010-2011 flu season.

The Kansas Healthcare Collaborative established a statewide goal to increase the Kansas hospital health care worker seasonal influenza immunization rate to 100 percent by 2014.

The KHA Leadership Institute graduated its tenth class of 31 students on August 19 at the Critical Issues Summit in Wichita, Kansas. Students were nominated by their hospital's CEO to be part of this select group. They represent the future leaders of Kansas hospitals.

With this week’s visit to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) completed his statewide tour of all 127 Kansas community hospitals. Sen. Moran began visiting community hospitals while representing the “Big First” district in the U.S. House of Representatives. The “Big First” is home to 75 of the state’s 127 community hospitals, and boasts more community hospitals than any other district in the country.
