Kansas Community Hospitals
In 2010, hospital revenues and expenses showed minimal growth or declined over the prior years as a result of the economic downturn that began in earnest during the last quarter of 2008. Non-operating revenue was once again on the rise. Download report.

NON-REINMBURSED CARE IN KANSAS COMMUNITY HOSPITALS | 2006-2010

The amount of non-reimbursed care continues to increase in community hospitals, but at a slower rate. Non-reimbursed care is the difference between gross patient revenue (the amount of billed charges) and net patient revenue (the amount of payment received). In 2010, the amount of non-reimbursed care rose to $10.3 billion. Both gross patient and net patient revenue increased. Since 2006 gross patient revenue has increased over 36 percent. Meanwhile, net patient revenue has only increased about 26 percent during that same time period.
