National Comparisions

COMMUNITY HOSPITAL NATIONAL COMPARISONS | 2009

In 2009, there were 5,008 community hospitals in the nation.

The number of outpatient visits showed minimal change. The nation’s community hospitals reported an average of 2,091 outpatient visits per 1,000 population, less than 1 percent from 2008. Kansas ranked 22nd in the nation, with 2,388 outpatient visits per 1,000 population. Inpatient admissions for hospitals remained consistent from 2008 to 2009. Kansas ranked 30th in the nation, with 112 admissions per 1,000 population.
