Meeting Medical PTSD with Comfort and Understanding

As a patient who has severe Medical PTSD: every procedure I have had has been met with the comfort and understanding of care needed for extra support whether it being a support person in the treatment room with me or meds prior to arriving for procedures. To even being placed under anesthesia before leaving pre-op. Every single person on the surgery unit has always made me felt heard and cared for. Even when they don't know the history as to why the PTSD is there. To have many people help be my voice and get me the treatment before and during is amazing. The after-care and support are beyond incredible also, including checking in just to make sure I was able to rest and calm the anxiety after returning home and to guide me on what my next steps can be when I need them.
