(Sept. 4, 2020) – On Aug. 3, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a proposed rule that would update the physician fee schedule payments for calendar year 2021. In the rule, CMS proposed to implement a budget-neutral increase in the payment rates for office/outpatient evaluation and management visits, which will have a negative impact on physician reimbursement. The rule also includes several proposals to implement year five of the quality payment program, as well as proposals to increase telehealth and scope of practice flexibilities.
Below are two webinar opportunities to learn more about the proposed changes:
- Sept. 10 at Noon – PYA will host a no-cost webinar to review the proposed changes to the 2021 PFS. Click here for more information, including registration.
- Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. – The American Hospital Association will host a members-only webinar detailing CY 2021 proposed changes to the physician fee schedule, which would decrease PFS rates by 10.61 percent in CY 2021 and implement several changes related to telehealth, scope of practice and treatment for opioid use disorder.
