(Sept. 18, 2020) – Earlier this summer, the Kansas Hospital Association Board of Directors made the difficult and prudent decision to cancel the in-person KHA Annual Convention and Trade Show. Since that point in time, the KHA Education Department has been exploring creative and innovative ways with the KHA Convention Planning Committee to develop an alternative virtual program. We are pleased to announce that the KHA Virtual Convention and Trade Show will be Oct. 21-23. We hope you will mark your calendars and join us in this unique opportunity to recharge and connect with your peers.
Activities will kick off on Oct. 21, with our KHA Awards Recognition, the KHA Annual Business Meeting and our Keynote Speaker, Paul J. Long. During his presentation entitled, Fundamism: Connecting to Life Through F.U.N., Long will discuss how creating a culture of experience that empowers employees to create more FUN improves employee engagement, reduces attrition, increases patient satisfaction and inspires growth across nearly every performance metric. He will spark you and your team's creativity by partnering together in finding ways to create more FUN at work! If you want to learn more about this session, you can watch the video invitation that Paul Long created just for our KHA members.
Following the keynote presentation, the live hours for the virtual trade show will start and continue into Oct. 22. The trade show will offer access to 90 exhibitors who provide a wide-variety of health care products and services. This year, it pays to participate. We will be distributing $3,000 in cash prizes to multiple attendees actively visiting exhibitors during KHA's virtual trade show. The revenue KHA receives from exhibitor booth fees supports all KHA educational offerings. Please be sure to participate and thank the exhibitors for their support of KHA.
We know that networking is important to our convention attendees. On Oct. 22 and 23, we will be hosting virtual roundtable discussions. These discussions will allow participants to learn more about a current hot topic and discover how other hospitals tackle these issues. Each session will last 50 minutes, so come ready to talk to your peers. There will be an opportunity to sign up for the topics of your choice in advance.
Visit the KHA website for more information about the 2020 KHA Virtual Convention and Trade Show, including a schedule of activities. Registration will open next week.
We are as anxious as you are for things to get back to "normal." While it won't be the same, I know we can all join together and make this virtual convention and trade show a success.
Thank you for all you do to keep Kansas communities safe and healthy. We look forward to "seeing" you in October!
