(May 22, 2020) – The COVID-19 pandemic has created increased demand for critical medical products, which has strained manufacturing and supply chains. This includes drugs that have been in and out of shortage over the years and has created new shortages as well. The Food and Drug Administration, as part of their response to COVID-19, is taking additional steps to continue monitoring the supply chain and to help address or mitigate potential drug shortages. This includes the development of the FDA COVID-19 Critical Care Drug Monitoring Survey
