CNA Provides Empathy and Compassion for All

Jeremy Gibson (July 21, 2023) – The Kansas Hospital Association's Health Care Worker of the Year Award highlights hospital employees who have made a significant contribution to the betterment of their hospital. These individuals are nominated for this award because they routinely go above and beyond the call of duty.

When patients and nurses are experiencing a hard day, Jeremy Gibson is there to lend a hand. As a CNA at Greenwood County Hospital, Gibson is a role model of empathy, compassion and helpfulness.

Patients rave about the care Gibson provides and the help they received while in the hospital. His name often comes up on patient satisfaction surveys and always in a positive way. He covers extra shifts when the nursing department is short-staffed, helping out where needed.

Gibson is very compassionate with family members doing small acts of kindness that help facilitate a visit. He shows special concern for elderly patients, talking with them especially if they have had no visitors that day, knowing a kind word helps bring a smile.

Gibson brings his experience in residential senior living to Greenwood County Hospital. Even during challenging times in his personal life, including the loss of a child, Gibson continues to provide selfless care and support to patients while modeling a caregiver's heart.

Gibson will be recognized, along with other Health Care Worker of the Year nominees, during the KHA Awards Luncheon at the 2023 KHA Annual Convention, Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Wichita/Century II Convention Center in Wichita.
