Broadband Informational Webinar – Aug. 26
(Aug. 21, 2020) – It is time to apply for broadband savings for fiscal year 2021. The Kansas Health-e Broadband Consortium will host an informational webinar at noon on Aug. 26. Learn about program changes and timelines for the 2021 funding window. All Kansas hospitals are eligible to participate in the consortium.
The Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation has created a consortium to enable members to access subsidies as a group. We have retained the Federal Funding Group, a consulting firm based out of Evergreen, Colorado, with deep expertise in the Healthcare Connect Fund to assist our efforts. Below are a few key highlights of the program.
- The HCF provides 65 percent discount on broadband services and equipment.
- A consortium may receive a funding commitment for three years. Individual applicants have to be approved annually.
- Additional funds become available for costs like construction that are not available to individual applicants.
- Urban hospitals are allowed to access the 65 percent discount if they are part of the consortium. They are not able to access the discounts as an individual applicant.
