Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Quality-Based Reimbursement Program Due May 5
(May 1, 2020) – The Quality-Based Reimbursement Program is a voluntary program developed to provide incentives for providers to enhance quality and safety. Period 2 data, derived from discharges between July 1, 2019 - Dec. 31, 2019 is due to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas by May 5, 2020. If updated measures are not received by May 5, 2020, a reimbursement reduction will occur beginning July 1, 2020.
Contracting BCBSKS providers report quality measure data bi-annually and, based on the data reported, they are eligible to earn reimbursement increases. Some measures require attestation only, while others require data to be submitted to BCBSKS. BCBSKS works with the Kansas Hospital Association, the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative and representatives from the provider community to select meaningful quality and efficiency measures.
The BCBS QBRP Report for 2020 is available in QHi. This report is designed to facilitate submission to BCBS to meet many of the QBRP requirements. Titled BCBS of KS Report, it is located on the vertical menu under the Reports heading. Both a Critical Access Hospital and prospective payment system hospital report display providing data elements required to submit to BCBS.
