(Aug. 28, 2020) – This week, the Special Committee on Kansas Mental Health Modernization and Reform
, chaired by Representative Brenda Landwehr (R-Wichita), met to hear testimony from members of the various behavioral health and substance abuse committees and task forces. The Kansas Hospital Association provided an overview
of the activities of the Governor's Substance Use Disorder Task Force. Various suggestions from these groups, as well as the progress on implementing the recommendations were discussed. The committee then participated in roundtable discussions to help direct their work for the remainder of the interim. The next meeting date has not been determined.
