Senate Committee Takes Action on Provider Assessment Bill
Physician Payments (March 25, 2019) – The Senate Ways and Means Committee, chaired by Senator Carolyn McGinn (R-Sedgwick), met this morning to discuss amendments to Senate Bill 225, the hospital provider assessment bill that implements the changes recommended by the Kansas Hospital Association Board. The committee voted to add amendment language that would require the program be budget neutral and that KDHE, with the approval of the Healthcare Access Improvement Panel, implement the necessary changes to make it budget neutral. The bill was not voted out of the committee but was sent to the full Senate for a vote, pending language added during the budget process.
