(Sept. 16, 2022) – Friday afternoon, the Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas Executive Committee, chaired by Lt. Governor David Toland, met. The committee discussed allocating the remaining $374 million in federal funds that have come to the state.
Recommendations were presented to the committee that had been prepared by the working subgroups that had met from January through April this year to review possible projects and funding allocations.
The committee reviewed the following major categories and made allocations to each:
- Connectivity $35 million
- Efficiency and Modernization $100 million
- Health and Education $109 million
- Economic Revitalization $130 million
The recommendations will be reviewed by the State Finance Council. A meeting date was not set for the SPARK committee to further discuss the recommended projects within each allocation.
