Medical Marijuana Doesn't See Final Votes Sports Wagering Passes
Hemp Oil (April 29, 2022) – While the Conference Committee members of House and Senate Federal and State Affairs met throughout the week to discuss the provisions related to both medical marijuana, as well as sports wagering in Kansas, the committee didn't complete the agreement on medical marijuana provisions. The Senate's position on medical marijuana is contained in Senate Bill 560, while the House's position is contained in House Substitute for Senate Bill 158. The conference committee may take up the matter when the Legislature returns later in May. The provisions authorizing sports wagering in Kansas agreed to in conference are contained in Senate Bill 84, and passed the House on a vote of 73-49 and the Senate on a vote of 21-13. The bill will now go to Governor Laura Kelly.
