House and Senate Agree to Healthcare Stabilization Fund Changes
KansasCapitol (April 8, 2021) – Today, the House and Senate Conference Committee Conferees from the Insurance Committees met and agreed to the language from House Bill 2380, as amended. The legislation, which KHA has provided support for, will now be included in House Sub for Senate Bill 78. The legislation amends the Healthcare Stabilization Fund minimum professional liability insurance coverage requirements and the membership of the Board of Governors of such fund. The bill increases the required minimum liability insurance requirements to levels currently purchased by 94 percent of providers and limits the coverage options from three to two. The legislation now goes to the floor of each chamber.
