House Appropriations Committee Meets to complete Omnibus Items and Adds Key Health Items

KansasCapitol (May 5, 2021) – Today, the House Appropriations Committee, chaired by Representative Troy Waymaster (R-Bunker Hill) met to work through outstanding items.

The committee added positions with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to implement the Rural Emergency Hospital Model and Rural Hospital Innovation Grant Program.

The committee also added proviso language requiring the Robert G. (Bob) Bethell Joint Committee on Home and Community Based Services and KanCare Oversight Review Committee to meet during the 2021 interim to discuss pharmacy benefit managers' treatment of 340B entities and non-340B entities in regard to reimbursement rates, fees and other PBM requirements. The language was brought forward by Representatives Susan Concannon (R-Beloit) and Kathy Wolfe-Moore (D-Kansas City) and was supported in committee by Representative Stephen Owens (R-Hesston).
