In less than two months, we will be in Wichita for the 2017 Kansas Hospital Association Annual Convention and Trade Show … Keys to Success. We encourage Kansas hospital trustees to join health care leaders from around the state on Sept. 7-8, at the Hyatt Regency Wichita/Century II Convention Center in Wichita.
This year's convention focuses on the following keys to success: leadership, collaboration, innovation and commitment. It will provide attendees with great opportunities for education, inspiration and networking. We have a diverse group of nationally known and respected speakers who will be joining us.
Our keynote speaker will be Doc Hendley who will teach us to do what we can with what we have. Hendley is the founder and president of Wine to Water, the organization's goal is to quench the thirst of the needy. During our Political Advocacy and Grassroots Breakfast, we will hear from Hugh Hewitt who will take an in-depth look at the longstanding social and political impacts of modern journalism on our society today.
It has been understood for some time that risk factors alone cannot explain why someone is healthy or sick. The missing link is whether people have a sense of control over their lives. General session speaker Pritpal Tamber, MD, will share 12 principles key to the future of health. Awareness, acceptance and courage are three essential steps to best connect with others. Chris Bashinelli will demonstrate the ease of relationship building with a personal, yet universal method. J. Bryan Sexton, PhD, will review the prevalence and severity of burnout, describe fatigue management and provide tools, tactics and research on how to enhance resilience.
We will close out convention with former Nashville songwriter Patrick Henry, who often says, "We learn best when we are being entertained." This session promises to be an entertaining end to our convention. Video clips for these speakers are available on the KHA convention page.
Registration materials have been mailed and are available for download on the convention page of the KHA website.
Your participation in the KHA Annual Convention and Trade Show is what allows us to provide such a high-caliber event. We hope to see many trustees join us in Wichita!
