This year will be a critical election year, and the individuals we elect will make many important decisions concerning the future of health care – and, ultimately, the future of Kansas hospitals.
The Kansas Hospital Association has launched the We CARE We VOTE campaign, a statewide initiative to empower and educate health care workers across the state about what's at stake for Kansas hospitals this election year. The campaign encourages hospital employees, physicians, trustees, vendors and volunteers to join together to make the voice of our industry heard by voting in the 2016 election.
Hospital trustees are in a powerful position to make a difference—both with your votes and with your voices as advocates —for better health. KHA is here to support those efforts, and we invite hospitals to use the customizable We CARE We VOTE advocacy toolkit to promote the importance of electing leaders who prioritize healthy Kansas populations and healthy Kansas economies.
Additionally, the KHA-PAC is supporting a number of candidates who have a contested primary election on Aug. 2. The support for these candidates is based upon local hospital input and the candidate's support for hospital-related issues. A listing of these candidates can be found online. We appreciate the support of those who have donated to the KHA-PAC this year. We are only half way to our goal and need donations to continue to make a difference. KHA-PAC donations can be made online.
If you have questions related to the upcoming primary election on Aug. 2, or the We CARE We VOTE campaign, contact Cindy Samuelson or Chad Austin at (785) 233-7436.
Please vote, and encourage others to vote as well.
