COMMUNITY HOSPITAL NATIONAL COMPARISONS | 2010
In 2010, there were 4,985 community hospitals in the nation.
The number of outpatient visits showed minimal change. The nation’s community hospitals reported an average of 2108 outpatient visits per 1,000 population, a little over 1 percent from 2009. Kansas ranked 27th in the nation, with 2,351 outpatient visits per 1,000 population. Inpatient admissions for hospitals remained consistent from 2009 to 2010. Kansas ranked 33rd in the nation, with 107 admissions per 1,000 population.
