The types of health care services provided by hospitals vary depending upon community needs and available resources. In 2011, 91 percent of community hospitals in Kansas reported having a CT scanner and 87 percent an outpatient surgery department. Community hospitals throughout Kansas offer health services to improve the health status of their community.
In 2011, 31 percent of community hospitals reported having a fitness center, 61 percent provided breast cancer screenings and 66 percent health screenings. In addition, 28 percent offered an immunization program.
Only 14 percent of community hospitals in Kansas reported offering psychiatric care and 33 percent offered a tobacco treatment/cessation program.
