The current KanCare demonstration expires on December 31, 2017. KDHE is requesting a one-year extension of the current KanCare demonstration, including the Uncompensated Care Pool and the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Pool, for the period of January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. KDHE will issue a request for proposal (RFP) for Managed Care Organizations (MCO) to submit bids to provide health insurance to Medicaid recipients for the following three years after the new contract goes into effect.

KDHE Offers Medicaid Training Courses
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment Division of Health Care Finance is offering five Medicaid Training courses beginning Oct. 16, 2018. Due to limitations of the presenters' time, KDHE will not be offering the regular four-week Medicaid Training Session. However, KDHE is offering the training on four separate days. The courses in this curriculum provide an overview of Kansas Medicaid with the following courses: Introduction to Medicaid Managed Care; the Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment Mandate; Working Healthy/Work; Medicaid Codes and Claims; and Grievance, Appeals and State Fair Hearings.
Registration is first-come, first served, and must be completed using the registration form. All training sessions will be at the Eisenhower State Office Building, 4th Floor Auditorium A, 700 SW Harrison, Topeka, KS 66603. The KDHE Medicaid Training includes many valuable resources. This is an instructor-led, interactive training for any staff in any agency dealing with Medicaid (KanCare). Introduction to Medicaid Managed Care; Codes and Claims; Working Healthy/WORK; and EPSDT courses are not intended for consumers or family members. The Grievance, Appeals and State Fair Hearings course is open to consumers and family members of consumers.
