2011 STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL PLAN

Vision:        An organization of hospitals working together to improve access,
                    quality and the affordability of health care for all Kansans. 

Mission:    To be the voice and resource for community-based hospitals by
                   meeting member needs for advocacy and service.

Values:     Service to Members ... Equal Representation ... 
                   Visionary Leadership ... Ethics, Honesty and Integrity.

Beliefs:     Every Kansan deserves access to quality health care. Hospitals are
                  a valuable community resource. Hospitals should have an equitable
                  marketplace in which to operate. Publicly funded programs should
                  not endanger the viability of community hospitals.

Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange
Information to improve patient care, develop health policy, improve public health and reduce cost.

Public Awareness and Education
Clear public understanding of the role, function and value of community hospitals. 

Fair and equitable financing for health services and ongoing hospital operations.
