Steps From The Stoop: The Three Simple Steps for Connecting with the “Other”

Chris Bashinelli’s all-inclusive approach to relationship building has been cultivated for 30+ years, starting with his ‘stoop’ in Brooklyn, where his childhood friends shared a combined total of over 13 nationalities. In this session, he demonstrates the ease of relationship building with a personal, yet universal method he has applied everywhere from farming with mystics in Uganda to living with nomads in Mongolia. Awareness, acceptance and courage—three essential steps from the stoop—can serve as the basis for profound personal transformation and deep connection with others. These steps enable us to strengthen our relationship with ourselves, our co-workers and those with whom we have no seeming connection–be it a Japanese Sumo Wrestler or our nextdoor neighbor. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bashinelli gave up an acting career (The Sopranos, HBO) to exchange with the world. Bashinelli is a United Nations speaker, Eagle Scout, National Geographic Young Explorer and host of the TV show “Bridge the Gap” on PBS.
