The Kansas Healthcare Collaborative is a provider-led organization dedicated to transforming health care through patient-centered initiatives that improve quality, safety and value. Founded in 2008 by the Kansas Hospital Association and the Kansas Medical Society, KHC embodies the commitment of two of the state's leading health care provider groups to act as a resource and continually enhance care provided to Kansans. One of KHC's guiding principles is that transforming health care should be led by those who provide care.

For more information regarding KHC, contact Kendra Tinsley, Program Director, (785) 235-2383.

The following presentations were delivered at KHC's first Summit on Quality on Oct.16, 2009. Two keynote presenters were featured, including Michael Leonard, MD, of Pascal Metrics--a leader in patient safety culture; and Tom Evans, MD, of the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative (IHC), who is a consultant for KHC.

The breakout sessions featured at this event included 25 Kansas providers representing a variety of disciplines. They shared their success stories and valuable insights gained from implementing quality and safety programming within their hospitals and physician office settings. Topics ranged from creating a culture of quality and excellence to relevant and timely clinical applications in the practice environment.
