Update on New Medicare Card Project
Medicare (April 6, 2018) – This week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services had a Special Open Door Forum for partners to provide information on the new Medicare Card Project. During the call, CMS staff provided an update on the schedule for new Medicare card mailings, how people on Medicare can look up their new Medicare card number or print a replacement card, as well as new resources available for partners. CMS will begin mailing new Medicare cards in April to certain regions of the United States. Medicare beneficiaries that are residents of Kansas should begin receiving their new cards after June of 2018. Additional information and resources on the new Medicare Card Project can be found on the CMS website at www.Medicare.gov/NewCard. An audio recording of the Open Door Forum can be accessed by calling (855) 859-2056 and entering the Conference ID 7065199.
