
ABOUT THE KANSAS HEALTH SERVICE CORPORATION
The Kansas Health Service Corporation (KHSC), a for-profit subsidiary of the Kansas Hospital Association, was formed in 1984 for two primary reasons: to provide needed products and services to KHA member hospitals; and to support the Kansas Hospital Association.
OBJECTIVE: KHSC`s primary objective is to make available to KHA member hospitals needed products and services that are more relevant and/or suited to the hospital environment and that are more competitively priced—while keeping the needs and welfare of the hospital as a primary concern.
ORGANIZATION: The Kansas Hospital Association is the sole stockholder of the Kansas Health Service Corporation. A separate board of directors, comprised of KHA member representatives governs KHSC.
KHSC BOARD
A seven-person Board of Directors governs the Kansas Health Service Corporation. They meet at least four times per year. The Board is primarily comprised of hospital administrators whose hospitals are users of KHSC products and services. The President of KHA also serves as the President of KHSC and is a member of the board.

ABOUT THE KHA WORKERS’ COMPENSATION FUND, INC.
KHA Workers’ Compensation Fund, Inc. (KHA-WC), a taxable workers’ compensation pool operated by the Kansas Health Service Corporation, was formed in 1991. It is organized in accordance with the workers’ compensation statutes of the State of Kansas.
OBJECTIVE: KHA-WC’s primary objective is to provide a moderately priced workers’ compensation insurance product which emphasizes customer service.
ORGANIZATION: The individual pool members for each plan year are considered the owners of the KHA-WC pool for that year. They are eligible for premium refunds, and are responsible for potential assessments. A separate board of directors, comprised of pool member representatives governs KHA-WC.
